
Class Styles
All classes are Mixed Levels - a variety of asanas are taught offering students the opportunity to explore at their own level. Class styles will vary according to the respective teacher.
Beginners Basic principles are introduced to those new to the practice.
Hatha A balanced combination of sustained poses with attention to basic alignment and therapeutic principals. Mindfulness; observing breath and body (triputi) are an integral part of class. This style of yoga provides a great stretch and strengthens the body.
Hatha Flow A balanced combination of sustained poses (Hatha) as well as poses flowing in a mindful progression from one to another. Attention is always given to basic alignment & therapeutic principals. Mindfulness; observing breath and body (triputi) are an integral part of class. Classes are balanced with energy, to give you a good physical work-out, and calm, to keep you balanced.
Slow Flow Similar to Hatha Flow yet suitable for individuals who are challenged by back and/or joint problems or chronic health issues. We will work in our pain-free range of motion.
Sun Salutations We position our mats to face the direction of the sun and move slowly through several rounds of salutations, accompanied by the teacher’s chanting of the 12 Sanskrit mantras honouring the sun. A deeply relaxing and meditative gratitude practice suitable for all levels.
Vinyasa Flow A high intensity vinyasa-flow class for intermediate-level practitioners.
Yin Yoga A cooling Asana practice that works on the connective tissue of the body. Mainly focused on floor postures, each is held for 3-5 minutes with the assistance of props to create a deep and intense release. Yin Yoga can be very beneficial for individuals with chronic pain, to increase mobility or as a complimentary practice to a regular hatha yoga practice.
Restorative Yoga Restorative Yoga focuses on relaxing the body and mind through a sequence of restful, supported postures. A state of deep relaxation is entered which nourishes the nervous, endocrine and immune systems, promoting overall well being.
Tuesday Evening Sessions
Vipassana w/ Patricia Galaczy (1st Tuesday of the month)
Insight or Vipassana meditation is the simple practice of observing one’s direct experience in this very moment, with a gently relaxed, open and careful awareness. By learning to be present with this attitude, we are able to access our natural qualities – a spacious calm clear mind; a warm and peaceful heart.
Alternating Topic (2nd Tuesday of the month)
Vijnana w/ Cathy Valentine (4th Tuesday of the month)
Join Cathy for a discussion and contemplation on the philosophy of yoga. Various subjects of consideration may be: advaita vedanta, dualism and non-dualism in yoga philosophy, yoga anatomy, maya, karma, samadhi, hatha yoga and raja yoga.

Kirtan We gather each Wednesday for devotional chanting which draws the mind inward and assists in attuning ourselves with Peace.
Satsang Satsang is a Sanskrit term meaning "union of truth". It is association with those who are seeking the Truth. We gather each Sunday to sing, chant, meditate, and hear spiritual readings celebrating in the company of fellow seekers in support of our aim for real peace.
Arati Ceremony of devotional service offered to one's chosen ideal of God. With the help of sounds, forms, rhythms, gestures, flowers, light, incense, and offerings, the mind is carried away from its material preoccupation toward a world of divine beauty.
Pranayama Loosely described as breath control. The ancient yogis developed many breathing techniques to maximize the benefits of prana. Pranayama is used in yoga as a separate practice to help clear and cleanse the body and mind. It is also used in preparation for meditation, and in asana,the practice of postures, to help maximize the benefits of the practice, and focus the mind.
Bhagavad Gita A sacred Hindu scripture that takes the form of a philosophical dialogue between Krishna and prince Arjuna. As a scripture it embodies the supreme spiritual mystery and secret knowledge.
