July 31st to August 4th, 2008
Please note that our guest teacher, Baba Hari Dass will not be attending the retreat this year (details)
Join us for our 34th Annual Summer Retreat, a time away from the routines of our daily lives, to reflect and renew through the timeless practices of yoga at the Salt Spring Centre of Yoga, in a supportive and beautiful Gulf Island setting.
This retreat focuses on the classical teachings of eight-limbed ashtanga* and hatha yoga, an ideal opportunity for those new to yoga as well as those who wish to rekindle their personal practice. (*NOTE: This yoga is not the same as ashtanga vinyasa yoga as taught by K. Pattabhi Jois.)
Our experienced and knowledgeable teachers provide systematic instruction in all aspects of yoga from asanas (yoga postures) to the empowering practices of pranayama (breath work), guided meditation and yoga philosophy.
The Retreat includes a Youth and Kids’ Program, for children aged 3 and over, allowing families as well as singles to attend. Please note that the Youth and Kids' Program is only available for children of parents registered in the adult program.
