COVID-19 Update


June 27, 2020 – Three new programs launched to bring the experience of the Salt Spring Centre of Yoga to you in comfort of your own home! Learn more about our Home Yoga Retreat, our Yoga as Medicine series, and our Virtual Annual Community Yoga Retreat.

We want to extend a thank you for your patience during the COVID-19 pandemic, allowing us to address the ongoing challenges in preparing our phased re-opening plan. As our focus continues to be on the health and safety of our community, we have continued our enhanced safety measures during this closure, based on the latest information available.

We will be continuing to evaluate our protocols in relation to the requirements by public health officials to ensure we are proceeding in the safest way possible. The Centre will continue to post updates about the status of public offerings and programs on this page in the coming dates. . 

We will provide more information on how this reopening plan will unfold, as we have the necessary protocols in place, to ensure that safety is held as a priority for our community. We highly recommend that you check back here before visiting the Centre.

SSCY Cancellations

The focus of the Centre continues to be one of respect and love for our community at large. In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, we currently are closed and have cancelled programs and offerings, including:

  • All March – July programs and rentals
  • the Residential Karma Yoga program
  • Personal Retreats
  • On-site public offerings (see the Public Offerings page for details on our online public offerings)
  • All bookings at the Chikitsa Shala Wellness Centre

As a non-profit, all of the COVID 19-related program cancellations are, of course, having a big impact on the Centre’s financial stability. Recognizing that this is a situation common to all, if you are in a position to be able to support the Centre during this time, donations would be most welcome.

Donations can be sent in the following ways:

  • Sending an e-transfer (use email
  • Donating online
  • Calling the office during office hours (Monday-Friday, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm) and donating using your credit card
