Virtual Annual Community Yoga Retreat

Bringing it Home

Every summer, the Salt Spring Centre of Yoga hosts its annual retreat – giving our community and those interested in yoga an opportunity to connect, practice, and share the teachings of Baba Hari Dass (Babaji). This year is no exception. The only difference is we’re moving online!

Although this retreat is being offered virtually this year, we have worked hard to ensure the retreat will be as interactive, engaging, and as deeply meaningful as possible. There will be a variety of ways to learn, connect and practice: live video sessions; pre-recorded content you can access at your convenience; and even informal chats where you can connect and share stories with fellow community members

During the virtual retreat, you will have the opportunity to:

Kids Program

Kids Program

Kids have always been an important part of the annual retreat. Their spirit of play and curiosity is important to us all. And so, of course, we wanted the kids to be part of our virtual retreat! There will be some time for the kids to come together online and share in the spirit of community.

While kids of all ages are welcome to participate, the Kids Program is best suited for those between the ages 4 and 12.

Kids Program Content

The Program will include a mix of on-screen and off-screen activities to provide an engaging, fun experience while limiting excessive screen time. Activities will include crafts, asana classes, and more.

This program is a fun way for kids to be part of the annual retreat. There will be opportunities for kids to connect with each other, and to participate in parts of the retreat with the whole community. They get to choose what they want to be part of.

  • All activities are optional.
  • The on-screen activities are scheduled, but all other activities will be on the kids’ own schedule.
  • Children may require assistance with some – or all – of the activities in the Kids Program, particularly younger children.

Sample Activities

ScheduledOnline Zoom sessions where all Kids Program participants can connect and share with each other
Scheduled: Ramayana warrior yoga asana class
Own schedule: Ramayana-themed drawings for a video collection, made from the drawings
Own scheduleGoodnight story

More session information will be emailed in the Kids Program package before the start of the retreat. And, as always, kids are also welcome to participate in arati, kirtan, etc. with the rest of the community.

The Kids Program offers a great opportunity for parents and kids to have fun doing some of these activities together. We hope you’ll join us!

Pricing Options

Please pay what you can comfortably afford. If you are able to contribute more, it is a great help to the Salt Spring Centre during this difficult time. Fixed expenses, insurance, taxes, maintenance and other required costs continue, even when there is no income. The Retreat is our main program for this year. Be sure you can attend in what ever way you can, any amount is a help.

There are so many areas being maintained for our continued connection through the classes and Satsangs, sharing together Babaji’s Grace of the teachings and all he has given in all aspects of yoga.

  • Adults (ages 18+): The Centre has provided multiple tiers of pricing for adult registrants in an effort to make this event as accessible as possible. Registrants may choose their own price, based on their financial circumstances. Prices include taxes.
  • Kids/Youth (ages 4 – 17): All children within a household can attend the retreat at the set price of $30 per family. Children are welcome to attend either the Kids Program or the general program. There is no charge for children ages 0 – 3 to attend. Prices include taxes.
